As you have been shopping for your Standby Power System for either your Residence or place of Business, there is a good possibility you have been wondering who will you contract to perform the installation.
Permitting, concrete slab or structure, delivery of the Genset, uncrating, lifting the Genset onto the pad/structure, gas connection, electrical installation, and most importantly, the "commissioning" of the system to Factory specifications for warranty purposes.
Each of these issues must be addressed and performed on a professional level to ensure a trouble free Installation and longevity of operation.
Licensed Contractors must be retained.
County and State codes must be adhered to.

Manufacturers tend to market some of their product lines as a "do it yourself" type installations.
Let us assure you, an installation on the West Coast of Florida is NOT for the "handyman"
Strict codes are enforced with regards to the type of PAD/STRUCTURE the unit is mounted on.
Of what use is a flooded Generator in an emergency situation?
Anderson York will pour a concrete pad at least 6" thick, ensuring the unit is standing "proud" of surface water.
Another issue to be addressed in the Coastal area is, what is the "zoning" for your Hone/Business?
If your building is in a Flood Zone (at times referred to as a "V" zone) it may be necessary to elevate your Generator as much as 11-13 feet above mean high tide.
It may be necessary for a structure to be built to elevate your unit as much as 7-9 ft. above ground level, requiring the services of our skilled CRANE operators.
This will require approved drawings by the local Building Department, and obviously a Contractor who is skilled in building the structure, elevating the Generator onto the structure, and ensuring the unit is properly fastened to the structure to meet the South Florida Building Code as it pertains to wind velocity.
GAS INSTALLATION
Do you have either Natural Gas or Liquid Propane presently installed on your property?
Existing Natural Gas: We will connect existing gas installations to your Generator extending it either underground or overhead to the required site.
Existing Liquid Propane (L.P. Gas) We will extend the gas line from your existing buried or surface bottle to the Generator and complete installation.
It is important to know what the gallon capacity is of your existing tank.
How many gallons per hour does the Generator burn.
How long will your supply last?
It may be necessary for your existing tank to be "paralleled" with another tank (i.e. if you have a 250 gallon tank, parallel to another 250 or 500) to give you sufficient capacity for an extended operating time should we encounter a major power outage.
Not either N.G. or L.P. : We will install either a buried Liquid Propane tank, or where permissible, a surface tank.
Once again, strict adherence must be made to Building Codes as it pertains to location of the tank with regards to setbacks to buildings, well heads, POC (points of combustion) and property setbacks.
ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION
THE ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION IS THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE ENTIRE PROJECT.
Your Contractor MUST be licensed.
It is STRONGLY recommended that your Contractor is a GENERAC Factory Licensed DEALER and Factory trained to ensure a trouble free installation, "commissioning" and warranty of your GENERATOR.
Once again, there are strict National Electrical Codes which must be adhered to with regards to the electrical installation and placement of the Generator and ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch)
The Electrical Contractor must also be Factory trained as to the adjustment of Gas flow to the unit to ensure proper Frequency and Voltages AND peak operating efficiency.
WARRANTY SERVICE WILL ONLY BE PERFORMED BY A FACTORY LICENSED DEALER.
